Deliverance

Rosskeen Free Church Sermons

Reading: Mark 9

The disciples have just seen Jesus on the mount of Transfiguration and it was a tremendous experience for them. We are experience mountain-top experiences. But sometimes our experiences are followed by the valley of despair. During the Christian walk, there are going to be highs and lows, good and bad. There will be blessing and times of joy, but the Lord equips us for times of pain too.

Even though I walk through the valley or the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.

Jesus has promised that he will always be with us and will take us through the trials and difficulties

The Great White Throne

The hitchhikers guide to life, death and everything after

Readings: Matthew 25:31-46 and Revelation 20:11-15

Key Verse: Revelation 20:11a
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it.

The end of the world is going to come, and when it does, the great judgement will take place. God will be the judge, and all the people in world, will be judged, fairly, by Him. He will look at all you’ve done throughout your life, and all the chances you’ve had to make yourself right with Him. If you have trusted in Jesus, God will see you as perfect and welcome you into the Kingdom. If you haven’t trusted in Jesus, you will be cast out of God’s presence and thrown into outer darkness.

Are you ready for judgement day? No-one knows when it’ll be, so you need to make sure you’re ready.

Sermon Points:
1) Judgement
2) Judge
3) Judgement of the Judge

The Golden Calf

Rosskeen Free Church Sermons

Reading: Exodus 32

We live in a broken world, that is full of pain and suffering. The world is broken because we are broken, due to sin. This passage reminds us of our sinfulness and our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Our sin and wants get us into trouble and difficulties. We forget about what God has done and how he’s delivered us from slavery, we fall back into our former ways without realising it. God said he would bring them back; God keeps his promises and in time, He does bring them back. We are great sinners, but we have a might Saviour.

Sermon Points:

A. The Reality of our Sin

B. The Reality of our Saviour
