In this series we are introduce to Esther and her Uncle Mordecai. They are Jews who are living in the Babylon after the Jews have been allowed to return to their homeland.
The central theme is one of salvation. The whole of the Jewish people throughout the Persian empire are faced with genocide. Although God’s name is not mentioned in the book at all, His providence is seen through the acts of Mordecai & Esther through whom God saves His people from destruction.
Calum lifts the lid and what it must have been like for Esther, not the romantic notion of winning a beauty competition to become Queen but but more akin to human trafficking and sexual exploitation. How did God work in these circumstances, listen to series and have your eyes opened.
