Precious Jesus

Rosskeen Free Church Family - Private G+ Community

Reading: 1 Peter 2:4-12

Key Verse: 1 Peter 2:6-7
6 For in Scripture it says:
‘See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.’
7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,’

Jesus is the chief cornerstone by which all saints fit together in the church, the holy temple, in which God dwells. Jesus is precious because of what he has done and who he is.
Peter in his epistles was writing to saints who were being persecuted and tempted to give in. They need to be reminded of the preciousness of Jesus and of their faith.
What are the precious things in your life? What do you hold on to?
