Reading: Genesis 50:22-26 and Exodus 1
Key Verse: Exodus 1:17
The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live.
Exodus means ‘going out’ and is the story of the deliverance from slavery for God’s people. It can be said Exodus is like a mini OT gospel, with the themes of a redeemer, redemption, and how the redeemed of God should live all being present.
In chapter one we look at how the fear of man controlled Pharaoh but how the Israeli midwives disobeyed to cruel godless law of Pharaoh because they feared God more than they feared Pharaoh.
