Reading: John 11:1-26 and 1 Peter 1:1-12

Key Verse:
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.’

1 Peter 1:3-6
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials

Everything in life has components. Some components are fundamental without which the rest is of no use. Without a spark plug in a petrol engine being there, the engine will not work no matter how nice the car is that the engine sits in.
The resurrection is fundamental to Christianity. Without the resurrection the cross is simply a place of sorrow and Jesus is irrelevant to us, we should stop preaching, go home and just make the best of life we can.

Sermon Points:
A: Resurrection offers new life
B: Resurrection offers living hope
C : Resurrection offers unmatched eternal inheritance
