Key Verse: Luke 12:42-43The Lord answered, ‘Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.
The chapter started with a warning to watch out for the hypocrisy, rather we are to act openly and honest and be ready to confess Jesus before men, fearing God and not men. Then Jesus taught to watch out for the deceitfulness of wealth. The chapter continues this watchful theme in the parable of the faithful servant and the unfaithful servant.
The watchful, obedient servant who is found faithful doing the work his master prescribed him is rewarded with promotion. While the wicked, lazy servant is punished upon the master’s return
