Prayer Strike

Do you ever have one of those days in your Christian walk when you feel like you are deep in enemy territory and cut of from your own lines?  Maybe you feel like you are trying to go somewhere the enemy doesn’t want you to go and you’re meeting heavy resistance.  Or perhaps you are getting ready to tackle a heavy topic, and you feel like you are going to be going up against heavy fortifications and you can’t cope on your own. Perhaps you’ve stumbled unwittingly into an enemy ambush.  So what do you do in a situation like this?

Well, if you a soldier and were literally in his position, you might get on coms and ask for extra support, you might call in what the military refer to as an air-strike.  A concentrated heavy barrage, a lightening strike on a particular target to soften up or remove it.  Now, obviously we don’t have the backing of military ordinance or overwhelming firepower, but we have something better. Overwhelming prayer power.

Here is a suggestion.  Pick some friends.  Christian friends, prayer warriors who you can really trust.  Ask them to be your rapid-response prayer support team. Let them know how important this is and that you are relying on them.  The idea is that the next time you find yourself in a situation like this you can text them, call them, e-mail them – whatever it takes, and ask for concentrated, focused, heavy prayer support.  When you find yourself needing rapid-response support, call in a prayer-strike.
